Justin and Woody

Justin Timberlake played the male role in the romantic comedy Friends With Benefits. The movie contained a lot of sexual references and jokes, and one character, played by Woody Harrelson, was gay.

In an interview with The Advocate, Justin said, "I want to say that once we came up with the idea that Woody's character would be gay, it was really important to me that we use that as an opportunity to break anything that is a stereotype."

I am interested in prejudice and how the human mind seems very willing to habitually fall into this type of thinking. I am concerned about it since I see it in the world around me and I see how it affects so many lives in negative ways. I can’t help feeling that so many people miss out on very beautiful parts of the world because they are trapped in this way of thinking.

Justin Timberlake: Can he Break the Gay Stereotypes?

It is well known in the high school that many of the fights our brave teachers, thank you Rick Rios, break up are based on nothing more than racial tensions. How does this happen in a small town filled with friendly, understanding people? How can this happen in a town that the 2010 Census declared minority majority? I decided to research the phenomenon to see what I could uncover. My research found answers to the issue by looking at another group of people who suffer from prejudice and implicit biases--and also found an unlikely voice of reason.
