Shark Beaches

Today, I researched the most dangerous shark beaches around the world and what makes them so dangerous.   I was also simply looking for new information about sharks and their behavior.  I found a slew of useful information.  It seems like most shark attacks occur is temperate climates rather than cold beaches.  While this may seem obvious due to the lack of swimmers in cold climates, shark attacks have occurred in places such as Russia and Greenland.

When sharks attack

I learned that while shark attacks are indeed rare, they are happening much more frequently than in the 20th century.  In the 20th century, there were 108 recorded shark attacks.  Through 2010, there were over half that many.  It seems that most of these attacks are cases of mistaken identity.  Sharks do not have good eyesight, so often times attacks are the result of the shark mistaking a human for a seal or fish, two of their main foods.  I also learned ways to avoid shark attacks.
