Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been the amount of “perfecting people” that is used by Photoshop in magazines. I think it gives people something to strive for, that is unattainable. Even the people in the magazines don’t look like that! I remember Mrs. Reed talking about it the other day, but we had a lot of other aspects of culture we needed to get to, and had to move on. Lately, the issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that it hurts peoples self image, and that the magazines are blatantly lying to our faces!
Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been dreams. I remember my friend talking about it after school, but we didn’t find an a exact answer since we were on the bus going home. Lately, the issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that dreams are strange and uncontrollable. From what I have heard, dreams begin from feelings and thoughts that you have inside your mind that you haven’t fulfilled. For example, I heard that if you really like someone that you will dream up situations with that person.
I really liked this activity because it was fun to create an illusion and seeing how i would look like if i were that small. it's amazing how you can alter one photo and merge it into another. the hardest part for me was getting rid of the unnecessary details and using the magnetic lasso. many times, i would forget to save my cropped original and i would have to "lasso" it all over again. it was very frustrating because once you "lasso" something, you can't undo it. but in the end, the result was worth it.
