If you have been following my posts, than you not only have a terribly boring existence, but your kinda creepy. But those of you who have been following my posts in a purely intellectual and non-creepy manner, you'll have noticed that I am no friend to the music industry. A bunch of arrogant, greedy business-school dropouts who somehow managed to find themselves in control of one of the most powerful markets in America. At first, I was only seeing the battle between artists and labels from an outsider's point of view. But as I've been continuing to play with my band, I've gotten a better insight to how the music business really works.
We've been playing for about two years now. You know, one of those cute high school bands that people think fondly of as they graze through old photo albums. It's proved to be a very rewarding experience, artistically, socially, not to mention pretty much the funnest thing ever. The time since June of '08 has been a whirlwind of activity. We've continued to regularly play shows around Salt Lake, recorded, produced, and released our very first album, and we are now preparing for our very first tour. How exciting!
