F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, The Great Gatsby, has long been an American favorite. First published in 1925, during the Roaring 20s, the book was well received by the public. In both 1945 and 1953 The Great Gatsby was republished, increasing its already wide readership. Deemed a literary classic, it is regarded as a quintessential Great American Novel and was named the second best novel of the 20th Century by The Modern Library.
