Something I believe in most is learning. Learning is important because it helps you a lot. There are many different things it helps you with like getting a job, going to college ,and many more.
I believe in learning because if you never learn you wouldn’t be walking or talking. You learn how to walk by your parents and the school teaches you to talk and speak correctly, but your parents teach you how to speak a little bit too.
I remember being young. Not a care in the world. Now, I have to care about every move I make. It’s like even when I do one little thing; Its all wrong. Everything now is so hard, but its worth it. I believe that life can be good and bad, and here’s why.
It seems that math is harder than anything else. As if it’s trying to drag me down. It’s like when I’m almost out of the scary darkness; life pushes me back in. Life can be so rough.
I finished the entire book
In the book, "Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry,"
I found the following quote interesting:
"Just one person and everybody at Jefferson Davis is gonna know who you crazy 'bout and all your other business... and you know." pg 138
In the text, Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederate,
What are my plans for traveling? How am I supposed to prepare myself for my 8 month journey across Europe? These are a few questions I have to consider when thinking about my trip to Europe.
In the Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry , it seems as though there are many siblings (mostly brothers). In the beginning, two brothers are "arguing." As stated, the youngest brother does not listen and does whatever he wants. He also doesn't pay attention. As they walk along with the other brothers, the youngest brother falls behind and he has to catch up. If he doesn't catch up, they would be late. "You keep it up and you're gonna make us late."
This topic interests me because I want to know if I will live longer then my parents, or grandparents? I also want to know what new technology they can come up with. It interests me because I want to know what kinds of things they will be able to cure. The more problems they can solve the longer some people will live. I also think it would be really cool to try to help finding cures and learning all the new medical technology. Helping people is something I always love doing.
What is the American Dream? Many hope for the same things, such as money, an education, good health, safety, a home, jobs, money, and opportunity. Ultimately everyone is searching for happiness and success, no matter what that entitles. Immigrants from all over the world come to the United States hoping to achieve the the so called, “American Dream.” The same goes for the protagonist, Sundara in Children of the River by Linda Crew. Sundara’s biggest desire was to get an education and become a doctor.
I read the first 372 pages of the book
I found the following quote interesting:
"I always imagined that as one journeyed south it got warmer and merrier, until winter was left behind for ever."
In the text, Frodo and Sam are strolling along the west bank of the Great River, Anduin. As they walk, they notice that there is stillness as if there is no sign of life. The only thing they notice are small fowl whistling and piping in the reeds. Later, Sam notices the swans.
I am reading a book called the Tent by Gary Paulsen. I think it’s pretty good, it’s about a teenage boy name Steven and his father. Steven’s mother apparently ran off with some guy shortly after Steven was born. Still I think even though Steven’s father keep telling Steven “your mother has gone off with a ... well ... a friend” I think he is old enough to know what his father means by that. On top of that they are poor. Living in a ten- year- old rented trailer in a trailer park.
Tom Shadyac, one of Hollywood's leading comedy practitioners and the creative force behind “Ace Ventura,” “Liar Liar,” “They Nutty Professor,” and “Bruce Almighty,” also brought one of the most inspiring documentaries, “I AM,” this documentary focuses on what happened to him after a cycling accident that left him incapacitated, possibly for life and what he does to make a difference. Shadyac felt the need to tell others about his prior life of excess and greed, and how himself as an individual could contribute to society by changing the way we live.
Andre Dubus III, author of House of Sand and Fog, had written in reference to immigrants in America, “Dat's what they say of this cauntry back home, Kath: 'America, the land of milk and honey.' Bot they never tell you the milk's gone sour and the honey's stolen.” Immigrants from the 1700s to modern day have all held one thing dear to their hearts that connect them and explain the reasons for why they come to America, and it is called the American Dream.
I read the first 267 pages of the book
I found the following quote interesting:
“Laugh and be merry!”
In the text as the four hobbit entered, they seemed as if they did not know where they were. They were blinking as if they were confused unaware of their surroundings. As stated in the text “They were in a long low room, filled with the light of lamps swinging from the beams of the roof; and on the table of dark polished wood stood many candles, tall and yellow, burning brightly.” So far in the chapter, J.R.R Tolkien describes the setting the four hobbits are currently in.
I read the first 78 pages of the book
I found the following quote interesting:
"You shouldn't listen to all you hear..."
In the text, it talks about Mr. Bilbo's connections with his family members. At the age of ninety-nine Mr. Bilbo adopted Frodo as his heir, he noticed all the similarities. Although Mr. Bilbo may be significantly older, they have the same birthday on September 22nd which is significant. Because Mr. Bilbo was very wealthy, a big party is to be held every year. Friends and family came over.
Basically I'm talking about this big decision I have to make: if I want to graduate or be a nobody and its looking like im going to quit my job just so that I can be happy later. It's hard because I thought I would have finally been going to Honda Day in April in my very own Civic, but things don't always go as planned. Hopefully something good will happen from all this.
Michael Crichton died at the age of 66 after many years as a Physician and an author. He wrote many novels, movies and TV shows. He used his science and medical technology to write his novels. What is success to me? Will I ever have a good job and become successful? This is a question I think about every day. But what is even the definition of “success”?
This interests me because i'm not sure if i'm able to accomplish my goals. I am sure i can but there is always the doubt that i might not be able to. Also things change about a person every so often my goals could change from now to even a year. Im still not sure on what my goals are but i have some ideas.
I remember when I was a kid, I would sit there, watching the television. You would lots of cartoons. I remember they would have this one cartoon that used to stop and then cut a preview of that cartoon, only it would tell you to go and watch that show later. I would be in the middle of Animaniacs and then it would cut to Tom and Jerry, tell when and where, then back to Animaniacs. It was annoying. But I do have to say, it looked interesting. Violence is funny. Violence I always funny. Never gruesome. Only suggested. Imagined. Unlike how it is today. I miss those days though.
