For my research project I'm choosing to look at dreams. At first I was going to look at lucid dreams, but it felt to me that not everyone can really connect with lucid dreaming since not many people experience it daily or even frequently. So, I decided to look at if dreams reflect our daily life, if they are influenced by events that happened to us, or if they have no correlation whatsoever with daily life. Of course we have all experienced dreams, and I know that my dreams sometimes reflect past events or reflect a daily happening, but most of the time they seem pretty random. What's the connection between life and dreams? I found a few cool facts about dreaming:
-Your body becomes paralyzed when you fall into the REM stage of sleep, so as not to harm yourself if you have a particularly vivid dream.
-REM is short for Rapid Eye Movement, which occurs when you dream. (When lucid dreamers undergo experiments, they use eye movements to "communicate" with the scientists, which is different from the eye movement of REM.)
