We all have our views of what vampires could be and if they really exist, so I researched facts on vampires that would enlighten my knowledge of these blood sucking creatures. I found that in some areas of the Balkans, people believed that fruit such as pumpkins or watermelons could turn into vampires if they were left out longer than 10 days or not consumed before Christmas. But there's good news, the same people who believed that fruit could turn into vampires also did not fear these fruit because they had no teeth and thus no vampire biting occurred. Phew. As weird as the last myth sounded, there was one that definitely stood out:
Mermaids can also be vampires—but instead of sucking blood, they suck out the breath of their victims.
In Disney's "The Little Mermaid", I was unaware of such events but it does bring about a new sense of awareness of different mermaid species.
