iPad

Since I could remember people have always had the trait of competition. I see it a lot in technology, especially in today's society. One big competition is which tablet is better? To answer this question we must go back to the first tablet that really changed the way we view technology. This tablet is known as the iPad. Ever since the iPad has come out people have been raving about, including myself. After the iPad came out, other companies have been striving to make something just as evolutionary.

As I was searching the web for an interesting story I could write a post on, I came across a very intriguing story highlighting the fabled Apple franchise. The article, entitled "How Apple is Changing Kids' Brains" reports on the shocking statistics and benefits that have changed our society, especially the young. Max Fuller, a 2 year old, was given an Iphone by his father. His father's rational behind the decision was based on the many applications and modes of education available on the many apple products. The article then presents some statistics.

Apps have been a great addition to the features that mobile devices are capable of doing. It seems that every few weeks a new hit app hits app stores and smart phone users become captivated by the hit apps. A perfect example of this would be Angry Birds, which was a huge success in both the Apple App Store and the Android Marketplace. Over the last few weeks, it seems that Draw Something has been "the next big app". Draw Something is an app for those who love Pictionary, or for those who just love to draw.

I'm writing this on my iPad. I wrote every other Youth Voices post on my iPad. One was written while my family was driving to my grandma's house, another while sitting in my non-operational car in a 7/11 parking lot, waiting for someone to give it a jump. I posted some of them from my phone while trying to kill a couple minutes. The text file was just there. Didn't have to do anything but open Pages and copy and paste some text. Worked like magic. A lot of technology recently has made me feel same way; things are starting to work in a way that just seems right.

As I was searching both EBSCO and SIRS databases, I realized that information about the iPad would be hard to come across on websites like these.  The only helpful article I found compared and contrasted Apple’s iPad and Amazon’s Kindle.  It takes a look at how both have reshaped the life of books and music.

The newest innovative piece of technology that Apple has released is the Ipad. This looks like a cross between a macbook and an Iphone. There was much talk about this when it came out but how practical is this toy. Sure everyone would want a giant Iphone but are they willing to pay for it. There are a lot of redeeming qualities about it. One being the movie and video watching experience. The ability to watch a movie and take it any where you want is a great idea. The second, that I commend Apple for doing, is the introduction of reading books on it through ebook. I am glad that Apple is trying to bring books into their wide repertoire of technology. However, the Ipad has been presented with a lot of discontent.

The more people know about the iPad, the less they want to buy one, according to a study released Friday. But, are we expecting too much?

The study seems to confirm the iPad as Apple's least exciting announcement in years. And the company is feeling the backlash that comes from not delivering on the hype.
