We all know the glory that awaits those who reach the top of the podium, and it seemed like the Netherlands's Sven Kramer was about to reach that milestone for the second time this Olympics, this time in the 10,000 meters. As Kramer crossed the finish line at the end of the 25 lap race, he was securely in first place. untouchable. That was, until it was all taken away from him:
It is no laughing matter for Kramer, who completed the course and finished 7.57 seconds ahead of South Korea’s Lee Seung-hoon – but saw Lee awarded gold when he was disqualified.
