If you can't change it, Evoke it.
Just about four weeks ago, I became an agent on in a global network of social innovators. Urgent EVOKE: A Crash Course in Saving the World opened on March 3, 2010. It’s a game, a challenge, a strategy, and an experience all in one. It was designed and is directed by Jane McGonigal for the World Bank Institute.
First Impressions
EVOKE has been open four weeks and already has more than 13,787 members as of March 25, 2010 9:00 A.M. EST. The game will last ten weeks, concluding on May 5, 2010, with a new quest and a new mission unlocked each week. In the first mission, agents were asked to create a profile on where they see themselves in 2050. We were to go on "quests" and "missions" that involved three aspects: learn, act, and imagine. It's blogging, uploading a video or even a podcast of our reactions and responses to each mission. This basically is how the game goes. All agents are to complete their missions through blogging, or videotaping their activity.
