In technology class, we are currently working on our scripts and finishing our diigo projects to be prepared to present to the class what we learned and discovered about our topics. My diigo topic is on digital access and the digital divide. Digital access is a big controversy/debate that speaks about the amount of people who have access digitally and educational references within the digital world. Within the digital divide, there are three stages. The first stage is the economic divide. The economic divide is when somebody or a group of people do not have digital access because of poverty (ex: third world countries which are developing nations of Africa, Asia, and Latin America). The second stage is the usuability divide. The usuability divide is when somebody or a group of people have digital access but they are not able to fully take advantage of the fact that they have digital access because electronics are far too advanced/complicated for them. The third stage is the empowerment divide which is by far the hardest one to prevent and/or stop.
