The first three chapters of Living up the Street by Gary Soto might leave reader feeling sad because Chango is a boy whose life has been hard. He lost his dad. He says he is mean, but I don't think so. I think that he's mean because he lost his dad. If I lost my dad I will change the way I act.
Since Ive been reading the book Still Running Ive had chills and goosebumps down my body. the pain and suffer this family has been going through makes me really thank god i don't have to go what they went through and i have the home i have. One part in the story that really got me to think was when Rano and his brother got jumped by the kids from the other side of the tracks. when they're brought back to feeling and sight , Rano had the audacity to tell his brother not to tell anyone he cried.
