When I first looked at the cover of “Their Eyes were watching god” by Zora Neale Hurston I figured it would take place on a field. Also by the title maybe it was going to be religious. However both my first impressions turned out to be wrong. The story starts out on a porch with women and talks about the differences between men and women. Here are my thoughts on that differentiation. Men are physically stronger than women and women are emotionally stronger. A woman can be more expressive of emotions than a man.

Though I am not far in the book, it have read through a couple pages of the introduction. In the introduction, Aldous Huxley's life is put on a timeline, describing life events and his profound intelligence. I know what to expect mostly from the book, by reading reviews, and originally I was interested in writing a comparative essay between Brave New World and 1984. I have not reached the heart of the book but am excited to be reading great piece of literature.
