Recently, I read Never Cry Wolf, by Farley Mowat. I appreciated this book.
The protagonist's story is set in a Canadian forest investigating wolves, specifically In a Canadian province.
Farley faces certain forces and pressures. He is up against observing wild wolves up close and record data of their behaviour and what they do out in the wild. He meets these forces and pressures by deciding to Take a short break and getting back to intensive research. You can see this early in the story on page #67.
