As my eyes glanced down the long list of possible book choices, they paused on the title The Bell Jar, by Sylvia Plath. A good friend had told me about how it was an excellent read and really intrigued her.
My first impression of this book so far is that it is immensely good. There is something about the way Sylvia Plath writes that keeps my attention and I feel like I must read more. The story of this American classic is definitely a topic of interest for me, for it tells the tale of a girl moving to New York for a month on a scholarship-type-of-deal to write columns on fashion and the like, attend high social status parties, and wear expensive, designer clothing.
Though I am not too far in the novel, I get a feeling that it will be a good one that I’ll never want to end.
