One of the most interesting things I have learned from researching my topic are the eight limbs of yoga, according to Patanjali. The eight limbs are Yama, Nizama, Asana, Pranyama, Pratyhara, Dharna, Dhyana, and Samadhi. Each are correlated with how to perform yoga to a degree that will effect you mentaly and physically. 1. Yama- ethics, restraint and ahimsa 2. Niyama- cleanliness, ascetism, etc. 3. Asana- posture 4. Pranyama- breath-control 5. Pratyahara- sense-withdrawl 6. Dharna- concentration 7. Dhyana- meditation and 8. Samadhi- oneness in quality of jivaatma and Paramatma with Pranava of the Ishvara.
