When i started reading Sexy by Joyce Carol Oates, i found this book very heart warming. Darren is very insecure about himself and feels that every one else thinks the worse about him. Darren's family think he's too soft and that just makes him feel worse about himself. What Darren doesn't know is that many girls find him attractive and a good swimmer, he isn't like those other rude hot guys.
Many people don't realize that when they make unnecessary comments those people who are being judged take it seriously and it really affects them.
I have been searching for a new book to read and I was recommended to read a novel about soccer agents. This caught my eye because being a sports agent is one thing that I may look into when I'm older and I love watching movies or reading books about these sports agents for example Jerry Maguire was a movie that inspired me. This book is set in Argentina and three friends who don't know much about soccer and they inherited their friend's soccer play after he died. The friend was a soccer agent and instead of leaving money for his friends and family, he left the transfer pass of the player.
I just read the first section of the novel Seven Black Plays, which was a collaboration of seven African American writers writing one of of their more known pieces of work. I just read the first writer of the novel, which was Christopher Moore and his piece of work called "The Last Season". I was not used to reading a play, so the format and aspects of it were new to me. However, I managed to adjust and enjoyed reading the work.
I enjoyed Emma Young's essay, "The I In Dreaming," from: Young, Emma. "The I In Dreaming." New Scientist 209.2803 (2011): 36-39. Academic Search Premier. Web. 7 Mar. 2012. I liked it because I have been interested in how dreams can affect your real life and what they mean, when you sleep.
Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul by multiple authors was a very heart-warming and great book to read. I really enjoyed it because every few pages a new and inspiring true dog story awaited you. From reading this book, I have realized dogs can be so important in people's lives and can become loving and caring companions. I know a lot of people that are scared of dogs, or just see dogs and wild animals. They are animals, but the connections they make with us can sometimes be outstanding. My aunt got a new puppy, and since then she hasn't been able to be a second without him.
