With media and technology increasingly becoming a part of our everyday lives, the youth of America have began to show characteristics of chronic multitaskers. After reading the short NY Times article below I began to look at my own life and how technology directly affects me. Even though I never notice the effects while they are directly affecting me, as I look back at a day in my life I realize that technology dominates it.

There is no doubt that social media has complicated modern love and worse, modern romance. For one, tweeting, texting, and facebooking have all undermined the emotion and passion that often lies behind a verbal exchange, a laugh, or even just a look. It is extremely difficult to convey emotion and feeling through black, typewritten words on a pixel screen. What's worse is when statements get misunderstood because of the lack of sensation in the words. There is no body language or eye contact or brushing of hands.

According the the New York Times, a recent study found that there is therapeutic value for teenagers in blogging.

I keep a blog. In fact, I keep many. Each one with its own purpose, layout, format, and types of followers. For instance, I have one blog entirely dedicated to images, quotes, videos- you name it- that strike my interest. I also have an art focused blog, a pop culture blog, and a personal blog.
