Fremont high does not fulfill its requirement under the Educational Bill of Rights, Right 3 says “A Suitable learning environment and school classrooms, buildings, and facilities that enable learning and health, including: Bathrooms and sanitary facilities that are unlocked, accessible, well-stocked and maintained in decent, safe and sanitary condition”.
Through these few articles that I have skimmed so far I have come to realize that Title IX has had much more of an impact than I had originally expected. Title IX is a portion of the Education Amendments of 1972 (later named Patsy Mink Equal Opportunity in Education Act in 2002) that states: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance."
Should malls increase security? Eric Holder, a US Attorney General, suggests that malls should increase security. The reason is there’s has been many urging attacks in malls. These attacks are caused by terrorist. According to the CNN and Mary Kay Mallonee and Wes Bruer’s article “Eric Holder: Malls Should Increase Security”, they have identified an ISIS recruit due to his unmasked videos. This ISIS recruit s Jihadi John who’s from London. After identifying an ISIS recruit, Eric Holder vowed he and the U.S. government will do anything to find and hunt Jihadi John down.
My response after watching the movie "Selma: was I felt sad and aggravated, and a part of me felt guilty. None of what happened to those people in the movie was new to me, but it still hurt to know that people went through all of that for freedom and equality.
Today in this world, people don’t have a good access to a clean source of water. Either they don't have enough money to pay the water or buy bottles of it, or like I stated before they don't have a source. So my question is; should water be commodity or a right.
There are many people in jails right now. 237,000 people in county prisons and 95,000 people in federal jail. Felons have done deeds that exceed daily actions and involved violence. Even though you are a convicted felon, you don’t lose your citizenship and citizens in the USA are allowed to vote so why aren’t they? The amount of felons that exist in this country, the hundreds of thousands of people, at this moment could change the outcome of the leader of our home and several states are stopping them from voting. That is just unjust.
My last youth voices post was focused on the battle for the right for homosexual couples to get married. It's a battle which has been prolific in the media. In this discussion I'm going to update everyone on the current situation in the fight for marriage equality.
While the country as a whole has struggled with abortion, several states have made remarkable decisions regarding abortion. This November in Tennessee, voters secured passage of legislation that paved the way for abortion restrictions. They did this using a two-thirds majority vote that altered the state constitution, allowing the state to assert, "...nothing in it 'secures or protects a right to abortion'" (usnews.com).
Ebola is a virus that dismantles the body and causes the symptoms of AIDs to occur in just several days. The strain that is currently spreading has a 50% average mortality rate according to the World Health Organization, and it can be transferred through both direct and indirect contact with bodily fluids.
1 billion dollars. That's the networth of powerhouse couple Beyonce and Jay-z. Holding her own fortune at 450 million dollars, Beyonce Knowles-Carter has managed to carve out a name for herself in music with five platinum albums, not including her work with Destiny's Child. She has had a successful acting career (Austin Powers, Dreamgirls, Obsessed), and has taken on work with corporations like L'Oreal, Ford, and Samsung.
Last Friday my classmates and I attended to Berkeley's movie theater to watch "Fruitvale Station". The movie was heart touching, especially to my classmates and I since we live in the "hood" just like the main character. The movie showed a perspective of any color person. Oscar was trying to start his life again and start fresh that way he won't have to be separated once again from his daughter. That was highly realistic because people usually end up in the bad crowd because they have to do anything in order to survive.
My article was posted last week in TV Guide timely and announced that the last season of the Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie will feature a family with two moms. This has been received with exuberance among liberals and other gay rights supporters and has come as a shock to most. While Disney and its subsidiaries have held a longstanding reputation of being socially conservative, a closer look at the history of Disney shows that the company may have been sporting a gay rights agenda for over two decades.
In Tanya Savory book”Abraham Lincoln-A Giant Among Presidents” the author talks about in the chapters 6&7 how Lincoln moves to a new town because he was re-elected for another two year term in Illinois the town he moved to was called Springfield he figured since he have been mourning over the lost of his mother sister and potential wife he figured a moved would be great for him and his job. he moves to Springfield he starts living with a guy he meet and a store and they shared a room and became very close.
Is abortion really the right thing to do? Is murdering a baby really worth living your life healthy? I say no, its not the right thing to do. Abortion should be illegal in the U.S because abortion is murder. Abortion has been around for many years and has been and still is a controversial issue. During abortion babies die, even if they are still embryos and/or fetuses. The procedure is stressful and dangerous, during the procedure; the mother may die or get severely scarred. To get an abortion, it costs a lot of money to have just ONE for one single baby or fetus.
An average of about 1.3 million abortions are done each year. Abortion is the killing of an innocent human being, which should not be allowed. Most women feel guilty after having an abortion. Many couples are waiting to adopt babies but there aren't enough due to all of the abortions. Abortion promotes careless behaviors amongst people.
The Huffington Post has published an article titled "Teens With Lesbian Parents Do Better At School, Generally Happier In Life, Study Finds." It talks about a study that took place at The Williams Institute at UCLA, in which 78 adolescents who have lesbian mothers were observed over a period of 26 years. Their results showed that almost all 78 participants maintained a steady GPA and strong bond with their mothers. The participants also expressed desires to attend college, and they said they had an exceptionally open-minded attitude, due to their nontraditional upbringing.
When you walk into a store do you feel like somewhere in the room a beady little pair of eyes are following you everywhere? Well then, welcome to my world! Whenever I go into a store there is always one person that is watching me, whether it’s male or female or old or young. At first, I thought that they should have that right to see if people are stealing things because it’s their store but then as I thought about it more and more and I realized that what they are doing is ageist. I don’t think anybody should be discriminated against because of their age, race, or sexual preference.
When discussing gay parenting, there are basically only two sides to the issue- being for it, or being against it. Many people believe that placing a child in a home with same-sex parents can be extremely harmful to the child. It is said that a child with same-sex parents is more likely to develop issues with mental health or even suicidal tendencies. It is argued that children who are put up for adoption already have unstable lives, and putting them into a home with same-sex parents would only worsen their case.
Who are you to say someone cant marry just because they don't like the same gender as you? Its shocking how in the 21st century, we still don't have equal rights for everyone. Its not a matter of religion or your personal opinion. Its a matter of human rights, gays are humans too. Therefore they deserve all the human rights, straight people have. Its sad when you see people, like the Westboro Church boycotting gay military service personnel funerals. I changed my mind its disgusting when they boycott gay military service personnel funerals.
I do not support federal gun control laws because they are unconstitutional. I also do not support them because they have not been proven to actually lessen the rate of violent crime in the United States.
The first article I read was called Gun Control Facts (Agresti & Smith, 2011) and it included several surveys that discussed the effects of guns on the population. For example, this article said that of the 5, 340,000 violent crimes committed in the U.S. only 8% were committed by someone with a gun.
Same sex marriage is currently frowned about by several American Countries. The following nine states allow civil unions or domestic partnership: Oregon, Washington, California, Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Maine, Delaware, Maryland. Only six states allow same sex marriage: Iowa, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York.
I believe that same sex marriages should be legal. It should not matter what two people love each other, they should have the same right to get married. Not allowing this is immoral and it violates the natural laws of John Locke, one of which is liberty-liberty is freedom and gays and lesbians should have the same freedom to get married as anyone else. On top of this, denying this is a violation of religious freedom and a minority discrimination.
I'm an agent on Evoke, and my work on Evoke over the past four weeks (weeks 4-7) has been great because I have work on many things about water crisis, the future of the money, empowering women, urban resilience .

Eureka and citizen x have meet , but anyway they found out of it. he really didn't want to heart her. Alchamy name have been found out scary. Ember have few problem with her family, but it's getting fix and the other he just does not have problems.
