In my last post I found multiple pros and cons in recent articles about alternative energy sources. Fossil fuels are dwindling daily, so new information is being released daily about opinions, options, solar panels, or wind turbines. Organizations are doing their part in trying to reduce the need for fossil fuel, like University of Louisiana Lafayette's Cleco Alternative Energy Center. The National Association of State Energy Officials reported that Cleco will be build with grants "to evaluate electricity production from sustainable materials rather than fossil fuels...
I will be looking at what the U.S. energy policy is, how it is formed, and if it should be changed? I am interested in the topic of energy and climate change,as I think it is the defining challenge for young people. If we do not act, it is clear that there will be irreversible consequences. I have found data showing that the global CO2 emissions have only grown, and are now above 30,000 Teragrams. That works out to over a million tons.
I believe that anyone can make a difference, it does not matter about the age. Anyone and everyone is capable of doing things out of their reach. This belief of mine started from Global Warming, and how we as a nation constantly pollute the earth everyday by the little things that we do. Which causes the ozone layer to get thinner and thinner each year. Which can be dangerous to us. For example the constant weather changes.
More than 3/4 of the world runs on oil and fossil fuels. The entire world depends on fossil fuels for their electricity, and the entire world depends on electricity to survive (or most of it,
I am worried that the world is going to end before 2012 because of global warming. I want to know if the world is going to end because it effects me in the future. If the world is going to end what's the whole point to go to school or anything, if we do not have our futures? What will happen?
What can the USA do to cut down on fossil fuels and harmful gases that continue to cause global warming? Many people claim it to be our fault and many claim it to be completely natural, and it isn't our fault. But global warming has happened in the past when the greenhouse effect takes place.
One solution scientists have come up with is emitting greenhouse gases. By doing this it will in crease our atmosphere and benefit the whole situation. Another way is to reduce pollution from industries. Some of the things we have been doing is creating fuel efficient cars.
