Ethnography is an art form where a group creates art from real people and situations for art and for social change. As a class we all created a monologue by recording a monologue on the theme of home or a story related to home.
Here, I'm reading Ishmael's story.
Next week we will start brainstorming inquiry questions on social issues that we would like to ask fellow classmates that have to do with our school community, we will record the responses in an audio recording, transcribe them and then reading and video record them.
Recently, I asked the question, "Are private school students more successfully than public school students?" It is a big controversy and topic that most parents have to think about. I ask this because I have been a private school student since Kindergarten. I don't know what it is like to be in public school and it sure seems very different. In my last study of this topic, a study showed that private schools have a higher percentage of college bound students, and about 50% of those students score higher than the average SAT of a public school student.
In Travis Bradberry's essay, "How (And Why) To Stay Positive," from Bardberry, T. 2013. How (And Why) To Stay Positive. Forbes Magazine, 8th August, p. 1., the author focus on how optimism can over achieve pessimism.
I can educate people about jazz dance by choreographing and performing a jazz routine by showing the fluidity a jazz routine has and the effects of a variation of rhythm throughout one dance routine. In a dance routine, it is more interesting and much more difficult to have a variation of rhythms and the powerfulness of steps in just one dance. It is challenging for the choreographer as they make the audience feel a variety of moods, such as sadness and happiness. A certain step looks softer than another, hence perhaps giving a sense of peace, depending on what the choreographer wants.
I have loved performing and being in any sort of spotlight since I could walk; something about singing my feelings and dancing like a maniac makes me feel on top of the world. As a prospective college student, it is hard to make the choice to pursue an education and eventually a career in musical theatre, or to forget the idea all together and put to rest my passion for the theatre.
This is a Honda-Day commercial. I feel like it shows viewers what this event is about besides racing. On this day all these people who gather at the raceway all have a love for one thing. Watch the video for more info.
Cars in the future, are (if you cant tell) going to need to be ran on alternative sources but provide the same luxery and performance that the cars today have. GM has came out with a couple ideas called the EN-V. Which is a small egg like car that rolls on two wheels, fully electric, and can hold two passengers. This isn't exactly the next ferrari super car, but hey, it gets the job done cheaply. Our ideas for future cars are mostly safety, efficiency, and self knowlege. Meaning cars that can drive themselves and cars that can park themselves.
Last month, my mom bought me a power balance bracelet because she had heard a lot about them. The wrist band is said to improve athletic performance. Over the past month, I have gotten many questions about what the wrist band is and if it works. The opinions of it have been split between the product making a substantial difference or if it is just a sales gimmick. I have put much thought into the subject and decided to do some research on the topic.
"Power Balance is based on the idea of optimizing the body’s natural energy flow, similar to concepts behind many Eastern philosophies. The hologram in Power Balance is designed to resonate with and respond to the natural energy field of the body...Power Balance’s Mylar Holographic Disk (the same substance used to keep static electricity from damaging electrical components) has been imbedded with an electrical frequency that restores your body’s electrical balance, promoting a free exchange of positive and negative ions and align your body’s energy pathways.” -power balance website
From backstage stage, the only sounds came from the twenty thousand fans. The tension rose as he began to tune: E, A, D, G, B, E. The B is a bit sharp. He walked out on stage and faced the crowd in the dark. Silence… until the lights came up.
I stood still behind the black curtain, reviewing each and every step I was about to perform to distract my mind from the more general task at hand. A depressing and ominous song played in the background, and my eyes subconsciously followed the dancers on the stage. I wondered how full the auditorium really was. I heard it was a full house, but it could've been a rumor. All I could do was think positive thoughts: "I will remember every step", and "the crowd will love it." I took five deep breaths and powerfully swung my arms back and forth for a little bit of warmth. The music stopped and the stage went black. It was my turn. I walked to the center of the stage trying to catch a glimpse of just how many pairs of eyes were on me and only me. My first thoughts upon looking can't be written here, as the auditorium was nearly full to the final seat. I smiled at the opportunity for attention, and took my starting position. The music started suddenly, and I began to move.
The topic am interested in is in soccer. I also want to know if water or energy drinks help you in your playing performers. I researched this topic on Google and found an article called “Nutrition for Soccer Players”. This article was found at http://www.tiburonsoccer.org/Coaching/nutrition.htm. In this article, the author talked about the many different foods that soccer players can eat and drink to enhance their performance on the field. The writer states, “the water lost from the body during sweating needs to be replaced to stop you getting tired quickly, and also speed up the recovery process – that means feeling fitter and sharper afterward a lot sooner”. He also states that energy drinks helps in this process
The writer also tells you more information on what to eat and do after a match. For example it lets you know why its important to eat and drink healthy foods and drinks. It also tells you why is sport nutrition in soccer.
