In Michael Jay Friedman’s essay, "Lincoln As Emancipator," the author is discussing Abraham Lincoln as an great emancipator. Some people thought he was an opportunist. They also thought he lagged behind the abolitionist movement. The author also wants readers to know why Lincoln freed the slaves and what he believed in. Lincoln didn't believe that Whites and Blacks should live together.
I am interested in this topic because it is a big major problem in the United States. It is a major problem because millions of people want to migrate to the U.S to have a better life and a better future. I heard about it a couple of years ago. I heard about it because I was watching the news and reporters talked about the topic. I feel bad for the people who can't migrate because they don't get a second chance of being successful in a better place. Others don't want immigrants to come to the U.S because of security and safety issues. I think thats why its such a big deal.
