Through my researching of the efficacy of the Peace Corps in the modern day, I turned to Gale Resources and was able to find a story about the Let Girls Learn campaign in Ghana, which happens to benefit from the organization.
“We only have what we give.” is a quote said by Isabel Allende, and it is true, especially in times of crisis. Whether those crises be personal or world wide, we should help when possible. I know that often times, we think of the bad in human nature, but what of the good? When one comforts a real friend, doesn't that friend also help comfort that person as well? This is not to say that every kindness is repaid in kindness, but people are people, and life is dificult. All humans have an effect on life, even in nature. So, why not help out in the Syrian Refugee Crisis?
Note to the reader: This post is part of a project made by me and another youth voices user, Baraa. This is intended as part 3 of our series on the unrest in Syria.
Possible Solutions to the Syrian Crisis
My field research contained an interview with a teacher at Metwest High school about his opinion on internships and how they can help a student in school. It could help a student with either grades and credit recovery and in life with getting them a head start on how it will look in the real world with applying for a job or even getting interviewed for one as well.
My research focuses around child abuse. My first field research was an interview. I interviewed Ana Erami, a behavioral health clinician who works in the main office of Fremont High School. The interview was a success because I got answers as to how she would deal with a child who has been abused. Apart from that, I got answers on what her job is here at Fremont and how she feels about it.
I believe in the ability to move on from mistakes. Mistakes are bound to be made, when dealing with issues like heartbreak and painful ACT scores. Making mistakes and using bad judgement is a part of being human, and we as people would not be the same without it. High school is the perfect, and sometimes most awful, time for making them, and I have never met a person without a story of tell of their own.
For my first field research, I created a survey for my topic bullying. Some successes I had were that people answered my survey and the answers I have received made it easier to categorize and strategize how I will be able to use the data I have gotten.
There are many risks of using the internet. one such risk is cyberbullying or cyberstalking. this is a type of bullying where another person who you may not know tries to figure out who you are and where you live through the internet. this is also when someone bullies you on the internet, and often you have no control over it because they can do whatever they want on the internet. another risk is malware, which comes in many forms.
On our planet Earth, we discover new species everyday. As we discover more species, other species begin to die out. Why? Because we humans have been hunting them down to extinction. Therefore we should bring extinct species back to life so we can preserve and study them.
I know what you’re thinking, “This is going to be Jurassic Park all over again.” Well it’s not because we’re not going to bring back dinosaurs. Instead, we’re going to bring back species such as the dodo bird to study them.
Is college worth the price? Many students that graduate from high school would usually go to college and spend a lot of money on their classes and books; the cost of those things are around hundreds of dollars and can quickly empty your wallet with no money left to spend on other needs. I say that college is worth the price if you can make the most out of it by learning new things that couldn’t be taught during high school.
It is 1958 and the Barnhart family that consists of a preacher, his wife and kids have recently moved in next to a so called "haunted house" owned by an old lady named Grandma Dowdel who teach them life-long lessons.
This memoir is about the author who was born into a poor white family. She lived a scary life because of all the abuse she was getting from her stepfather. She tried to make her life worth it so she managed to get a good education. She then decided to leave home and start standing up for women’s rights. She thought this was a good way for her to escape, but she ended up doing things she didn’t want to do. I’ve been wondering what her parents were thinking about when she left.
Hello my name is Mayra Ortiz i am a student at Fremont High School. My senior project topic is on Child abuse which i chose due to my caring for children. I hate to hear kids are being hurt both emotionally and physically. It is what really gets to me because this youth is our future.
Hello my fellow readers I would like you to briefly review my problems and solution for my Senior project. The problem in my society that is effecting everyone are the dropout rates and how the numbers are so high and what are some causes that come to the students dropping out, what are some things that are being done to try to decrease these rates and how to increase the attendance of these students, trying to get Measure N involved as well.
I’ve recently read a book called Burnout written by Rebecca Donner. The book basically tells of a girl and her mom who had to move from the city to Elk Ridge,Oregon after the girls dad left. Elkridge,Oregon is a logging town deep in the mountain.Later on living there becomes a struggle for them.
I just finished reading Who Was Martin Luther King Jr. by Bonnie Bader.
Martin Luther king jr. parents were so happy. When martin luther king was 5 years old he was good friends with a white boy.The boys had known each other since three years old.But when they turned six they started school.Martin went to a school for black children.Martin cried but he realized how many white felt about blacks.
Mostly you imagine those who are bullied to be misshapen, maybe scarred, larger than others, or even too skinny. Well your ideas of bullying targets shouldn't always be the the stereotypical ones, anyone can get bullied and anything can happen to them or their bullies. In Sarah Byrens, Sarah and Eric both main characters have an entire friendship purely based on the fact they were both outcasts because Eric used to be “larger” before swimming and Sarah has burns on her face and some of her body because of an accident she was in.
How is culture and sticking to my culture going to help me in the future? how do I know? What about other people? I don’t know the answer to these questions and I know why. My culture, American, makes it very hard to believe my culture will help me in the future. With all the fake beauty in the magazines and on the billboards, I don’t know what to believe in the United States.
