Women’s rights. Its funny how it all started with men’s rights to all races except for one genre. Women. Even today, women’s rights are a big concern in the current world. Why and How is it so that when one gender gains rights and everyone is fine with that? What about the other gender? Today, the current world is still concerned about the topic of how women can get equal rights. Even though we have gained the rights to not be considered as a property nor just a person living in the kitchen, there are still some unequal rights that are pointed out.
One thing that I really liked about this book, or even just the series, is it's connections to real things that happened in the early 20th century. For example, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire is incorporated heavily in the first book and the sinking of the Titanic heavily influences the story in the second one. Now the one I just read, the third one, is really interesting because it's set in the time leading up to and during WWI and talks about how the main characters affected these events.
Hello, my name is Baraa, and I am a junior at Okemos High School. Though I was born in New York, my family is mostly from Syria and Palestine, so my other language is Arabic. My hobbies include taking a walk, shopping, Skyping and playing video games with friends, and reading whatever I currently feel like. Though I don’t travel that much, I deeply enjoy it too. Ever since I was a little kid, it excited me. I don’t really have a favorite color, but blue would be my closest.
In the definition of bully taken from dictionary.reference.com, a bully is “a blustering, quarrelsome, overbearing person who habitually badgers and intimidates smaller or weaker people.” Although the definition is true, there is more to it than that. A bully is someone who thinks that the world is center on themselves, and that no one knows the pain that someone else created for them. While bullied is a person who is/ was the victim of the bully; someone receiving pain of/ from the bully.
The Great Gatsby started off as a very capturing book. I am only 100 pages in but I never wanted to put the book down. I love how I could picture every scene and could feel the relationships between the characters. Although I had seen the movie before I read the book it was a completely different experience. I was able to create my own images of each character and every scene. I love Gatsby as a character and the way he presents himself, well in manner and speech.

For my research, I chose to write about what causes people to eat junk food. I thought this topic was very interesting because we all live in a country where fast food restaurants are a great business, and they earn a lot of money because we are always eating their foods. Out of the variety of topics I could have chosen from, I think I couldn't have made a better decision. Almost everyone at one point of their lives ate junk food, and that’s why this is a topic that many people can relate to and express their opinions about it.
In Katrina vanden Heuvel's opinion piece, "The Troubling State of America's Health," from the Washington Post, she argues that the government should not be focused on things such as fixing debt, but try to make our health care system better, and our life spans longer. She also argues that compared to other industrial countries, we are far behind in health.
In the editorial opinion piece,"The Moment for Action on Guns," from New York times, the author argues that with all theses recent public shootings, guns should become harder to get a hold of.
In the first paragraph the author uses ethos when they says, "Vice President Joseph Biden Jr.’s commission is about to present a series of recommendations for new laws." They are telling us that this man high in political status thinks our laws need to be revised or new ones need to be made, making us all trust think of agreeing or trusting his side of the debate.
Texting can be a very bad thing. Like when people are at the movies and all you here is the tap of the keys on the phones keyboard. Texting can also be a good thing. You can communicate with people all over the world. Unlike calling, you can text multiple people at once. Texting is a good and bad thing because it can be very annoying but can also be very helpful.
I chose these two issues because they seem to make the most sense to me. I personally believe in giving every child a chance for a good life even if it was not intentional. Of course that can depend on the situation on certain scenarios, so I am not stubborn on this topic. Restricted Gun Control is important to me because I firmly believe in order to manage the amount of damage that these weapons cause needs to be under control.
Since Ive been reading the book Still Running Ive had chills and goosebumps down my body. the pain and suffer this family has been going through makes me really thank god i don't have to go what they went through and i have the home i have. One part in the story that really got me to think was when Rano and his brother got jumped by the kids from the other side of the tracks. when they're brought back to feeling and sight , Rano had the audacity to tell his brother not to tell anyone he cried.
I have recently been doing research on the effects of cannabis. I want to make it clear that in this research paper I will be stating a lot of opinions from a cannabis user. All the quotes and some facts will be from a Wikipedia article on the long term effects of cannabis use I will also be backing up the Wikipedia article with other Web sites for proof.
I honestly like this essay from Daniel Massey from Crain's New York Business because it talks about all the problems that are going on inside of our economy. Occupy Wall Street is a something that’s going to remain inside of articles for the next four years.

Many people have different opinions of what is beautiful. Some things may not be as beautiful as it would be to another person. My goal is to capture all of those different aspects of beauty.
I was just attempting to round out my ten questions about life when I got stuck. I needed a question, so of course I turned to the world wide web. Since google is the answer to everything, I googled "questions about life" when I came upon a web page entitled "Answering the Big Questions of Life." Bingo. I began reading it, and the questions are actually pretty good, but I have an issue with the author of this page, one Sue Bohlin. She is so sure. Granted, I should have realized sooner that the page is sponsored by Probe Ministries,
so i get really mad every time someone tries to persuade me the type of bands i listen to are garbage. i always end up having an argument because people just always want to be right.
A really good post in Youth Voices would be a post that I care about and that I really want to know about or have very little information about. A really good post would also be a post with a really good introduction, I mean so good that it will draw me in and I will tell other people to read it because it was so good. It also has to have great picture.
