You think it would be a good idea if drugs were legalized? A ton of people would say of course but only certain drugs which I would agree with. Others would say no way drugs should be legalized and some would even want alcohol to be illegal as well. Though think about this, don't you think that this nation and the economy would be better off if certain drugs were legal?
There has been an ongoing stance of if illegal drugs should be legalized. The most common awareness of this is on the matter if marijuana should be legalized. Many feel as if so many people use this drug and not just for the matter of getting “high” but some use it for the use of getting rid of their pain if they have a sickness, like cancer. “Over the past two decades, 16 states have de-criminalized possession of small amounts of marijuana, and 22 have legalized it for medical purposes.
Illegal drugs should not be made legal because they are illegal for a reason. Heroin, cocaine, meth, and PCP are highly addictive and deadly. Countless people pass away each day from heroin and meth overdose and this issue is not going away. Illegal drugs are easily accessible today, and if they were legalized addiction would become more of an epidemic than it already is. This issue matters to me because my brother has been affected by heroin addiction and it's a huge problem because it's easy to find and cheap.
I chose to write about the legalization of certain illegal drugs. While it may seem odd to be in favor of legalizing what many consider “hard drugs” (i.e. Cocaine, heroin, or even methamphetamine), there has been substantial evidence which offers insight as to the benefits of legalization.
A commonly disputed topic that is being discussed, especially with the presidential debates, is whether illegal drugs should be legalized. This political issue is multi-faceted in its points of views. To put it simply there are three main arguments: there are those who believe all illegal drugs should be legalized, those who think it should only be marijuana, and those who don’t want any of these drugs legalized. Each point of view has valid and substantial reasons for pushing for what they believe in.
Should currently illegal drugs be legalized? This is an issue that is extremely popular in society today, specifically in the case of marijuana. Marijuana has recently been legalized in several states but not federally.
In my AP government class we were discussing the difference between states and federal power.. Federally, the distribution and possession of marijuana is outlawed. However, in several states it has been made legal.
In Thomas Tracy’s essay, “Gangs tied to 49 percent of shootings in New York City, mostly over petty disputes,” http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/gangs-represent-shootings-..., the author is making a argument about how gang members work in the street and innocent people dying for no reason . Gang violence is distruptive to our community and we need
to keep our children out of the streets .
I like this article because it tells us a lot about cannabis. It teaches us what it does to us and what can happen if we do to much and overdoes on bud because we wont die will will just have a hangover.
Although the overall crime rate in Utah fell in the past two decades, the state’s prison population grew by 18 percent from 2004 to 2013, six times faster than the national average. Rebecca Smith, education coordinator at the Salt Lake County Metro Jail, is optimistic about recent changes in the justice system. Through improved probation systems, an in-development outpatient facility that focuses on treating mental illness and addiction, and a new women’s unit, efforts are underway to help youth in our community escape the cycle of generational incarceration.
I’ve always been curious about drugs and the reasons why they are so addictive. This interest lead me to research more about the topic. Through my research I have learned a few things: drugs cause our bodies to release certain chemicals that give us pleasure, withdrawals are because we grow accustomed to the overproduction of certain chemicals, and drugs affect our neurotransmitters. Now, the reason they’re so addictive is because of the amount of chemicals they release. Usually, dopamine is the chemical it releases; it’s the chemical our brain releases to give us pleasure.
Violence in today's society is becoming a gigantic for almost every county, especially the United States. Researchers have tried to figure out the process that leads to violence in cases such as school shootings and mass murders. "There's a pathway to violence that starts with some thinking and then fantasizing about a plan," - Dr. peter Ash, director of the Psychiatry and Law Service at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to the recent article that I read from the New York Times, Republicans have warned Obama to think twice about legalizing marijuana in the U.S. As the possession and use of marijuana became legal in Washington D.C. this past month, republicans in the House and Congress say that they are going to continue to work to prevent residents from possessing small amounts of marijuana.
Hello, name is Jose Pineda-Perez an Im a senior at Fremont High School in Oakland. My field research will be based on a survey to students in drug affected areas. I did not have any success yet because I have not completed my survey doc yet.
After Brad broke up with Stacy she wanted vengeance on him. She went to Brad’s apartment and planted drugs under his bed, then went to the police station and waited to be called up to discuss her problem. She realized when the young male officer came over she would be able to PROCURE a search warrant quite easily with her happy DISPOSITION and EXQUISITE body. The officer Tom said he couldn’t get a warrant since they had no proof of any previous business Brad had in drugs.
Syria as a country has never been excepting of the gay life style, and in fact it is illegal for gay people to have sexual relations the penalty is up to three years in prison.
Of late however ISIS has brought to light there stunning dislike toward the LGBT community. Videos have been released by ISIS showing the brutal murders of several gay men; they were thrown off buildings and then stoned to death. The saddest thing about the videos is that you can see masses of bystanders with no facial expressions show no sign fear at the events taking place.

In the United States there is a constant debate on the legalization of drugs mostly regarding marijuana. Many lobbyist and government officials have opinions for or against the legalization. In the article The pros and cons of drug legalization in the U.S. both sides of the debate are assets.
The political issue I care about is the debate on should if illegal drugs should be legalized. This sparks an interest in me because I’m curious to know what the economic advances would be as well as the decrease in crime rate. I also would like to study pharmacy in college so knowing the background behind illegal drugs and why they are legal intrigue me.
The legalization of drugs has become an important political issue in recent years. A very vocal population has arisen supporting the legalization of drugs such as marijuana which has widespread use in the U.S. I chose this issue because the laws surrounding drugs are rapidly changing so in the next several years it is likely a massive change in how drugs are treated could occur. This topic was also of interest to me because of how widespread the use of drugs is for the high school aged population in the U.S.
This issue matters to me not because I’m a rebellious teenager and want to smoke weed everyday but I want this to be legalized for the sick people who need it to deal with the pain of their sickness’. Joycelyn Elders, MD the former US Surgeon General mentions Cancer patients are most known for using marijuana to cope with nausea as well as many other symptoms from the chemo treatment. Even by extracting the THC from the marijuana would significantly help the patients suffering from unbearable symptoms. By eating edibles or using a vaporizer it would cut down on many health risk factors.
Recently the Obama administration has taken steps to help fight the battle in our bodies of antibiotic resistant bacteria. It is estimated that up to half of all antibiotics perscribed are unnecessary or incorrectly prescribed and this is adding to the problem. So while antibiotics will still be available for human and animal treatment, the Food and Drug Administration is tightening the leash when it comes to handing out the medicine. They have also taken big steps in ending the use of antibiotics in large scale farming to help the effort.
