The Olympics, right now in Vancouver, bring together the world in celebrating the athletic talented of many individuals. Although all Olympians represent the best of the best, some are more recognizable than others. Perhaps one of the most well known athletes on the US Team this year is snowboarder Shaun White. He has been the only one to land certain tricks, has won many gold medals in the Winter X Games, and has won Snowboarding Rider of the Year twice. However, the most well known fact about him, other than his unique red hair, is his nickname. For many years now, he has been called "The Flying Tomato", which originated from a commentator during one of his competitions. Now, he's sick of it. And he wants to change it. To me, this is understandable, since I can see how being called "The Flying Tomato" could get old. But it seems strange to me to purposely try to change a nickname, one that someone else gave you and has been used for many years. I don't see how the new nickname he proposes, "The Animal" (based on the character from The Muppets), is any bet
