In Brent Staples' opinion piece, "Why the United States Should Look to Japan for Better Schools" from "The New York Times" explains the decrease in education in America through out time with government and economy, and why the U.S should look to Japan in envy of the amazing Education system. This morning on NPR, I heard a story about Japanese stunt actors whose only job is to die in movies. They interviewed one actor who has been working in the business for over 50 years. They said on screen, he's "died" over 5,000 times, and he appeared in "The Last Samurai" with Tom Cruise. Even though it doesn't seem like a trade, apparently it's a big deal. It incorporates Kabuki theatre, fighting, and acting.

Japan needs help and we Americans can help them if we try. Some of us aren't really trying at all. I wish I knew how I can contribute to Japan. I found out and then I contributed to my school which would go all the way to Japan. Japanese people have to deal with a struggle but they aren't fighting for food or water they get enough for their family and leave some for the rest. They wait on line for food and if they run out they don't complain they will get later.

I was kind of surprised reading Lucinda’s story “My Earthquake Story” from http://quakestories.wikispaces.com/International+School+of+the+Sacred+Heart because she was calm at the end of the story. She was scared in the beginning but it seemed like the people around her were more scared than her. She was more casual about how the earthquake hit Japan.

I like how you relate the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 to this earthquake, in your post, “The Land I Rule,” because, although the two are known as the two worst earthquakes that Japan has ever had, the two are on two completely different scales. The most recent has the chance of a nuclear meltdown, the other one to over 100,000 lives. One is nuclear, the other is not, that’s the biggest difference.

Pay attention you Nintendo 3DS lovers!

This is Peyton coming in, reporting on the sales of
our favorite game system that JUST hit markets in February of 2011. During the
week of the Earth quake of March 2011; the 3DS was on a steady roll of 96,000
units. But after the Earth quake, the sales dropped to a low 61,000 units.
Shocking right?!

It's unfair that the news about Osama Bin Laden's death over powers any news about Japan. If the news forgets about it then so will people, and the Japanse need help. I was wondering if the power plants ever got fixed in Japan and I couldn't get any information. Also I think, as Mrs.Brownstone says, that it's really disgusting that people are running out on the streets and cheering over someone's death. No one should do that.
