Israel started bombing Gaza the day before I left from a 3-day Christmas visit with my fundamentalist Christian parents, who believe that a war with Isreal is the beginning of The Second Coming of Jesus. They know that this is no longer my perspective: I don't look at every news item as if it's a tea leaf predicting my eventual eternal life or damnation, like they do.
