I am reading To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I am currently on page 220, and some major events have occured. Atticus Fintch, has taken on a case to defend a black man named Tom Robinson. This has stired up many emotions in the town of Maycomb. One night Atticus leaves with the car, which is very unusual. Jem and Scout, his children, sneak out of the house and head downtown to see what their father is up to. Their friend Dill tags along.
They finally see him from a distance sitting in front of the jail reading the newspaper. Right when they decide its about time to head home, a car pulls up in front of Atticus and men get out. They were not being very friendly and Scout decideds that she needs to intervine. She talks to one of the men about his son, keeps asking him questions, and soon enough the men decide to leave. Scout, an eight-year old girl, saved her father from getting hurt.
