Epidemics is defined as an outbreak disease/illness that affects a majority of a community. There are many different types of epidemics such as: yellow fever, the influenza of 1918, HIV/AIDS, and in todays world obesity. Even though obesity is not really a disease, it is something that affects many people and causes them to have health problems.
I was going to post something stupid but I guess this is a better choice considering it's an issue that's actually been keeping me up at night. So tomorrow I will not be in school because I will be visiting Oberlin College in Ohio.
Our world is filled with numbers, whether it be produce codes, or school codes, numbers are everywhere. However, today a new number has presented itself. The number is 7 billion. Today, on halloween, the 7 billionth person was born. This is an unbelievable statistic. In many ways, this is great. Our world has flourished like never before and we are thriving. However, on the flip side, resources are become scarce and many fear that we may not be able to provide for the increasing population. This is a tough issue with debates from both sides, but one thing is for sure: life is precious.
It seems like throughout history we've had trouble finding a balance between our needs, wants, and ever expanding population and the needs of the animals and wild places we share the planet with.
