I have a strange sense of motion in my joints that most people do not have. I have always called it "being loosley jointed". My knees, elbows, fingers, and especially my ankles and wrists can pop in and out of place without dislocating. They make loud cracks, sometimes I can purposely crack them ,other times not. I have always wondered what causes this and if it is permanet.
"Human Origins: What Bones and Genomes Tell Us About Ourselves" by Rob DeSalle and Ian Tattersall was a book recommended to me by a teacher of mine. Not only am I fascinated by the human genome and genetics in general, but I had also recently taken a class about phylogenetics, one of the topics this book focuses on. This book can be highly technical at times nonetheless, for any biology loving person this is a wonderfully in-depth book.
