It’s that one morning, closer to March or April, when you feel the first warm, spring breeze. The scent of flowers and raindrops clinging to the air and brushing across your face. It brings the thoughts of freedom and fun to the weary school kids. The kids trying to get by in their classes. Beach days, fireworks, and dark brown tans are not far away as the sun comes back and melts away all of the sadness winter left behind. Fresh and bright; they are the two words that can make anyone smile. They spark the imagination with new adventure, new people, and endless creativity.
Spring is coming up and a new season is upon us. The sad thing about spring is that it has all the best sports yet you can only choose to do one. I personally love both soccer and softball but they’re both in the same season. I wish they did soccer in the fall so I could do it then. You could do soccer in the summer not with the school but what if you’re traveling. Why can’t they move it to the spring?
Spring has begun with all its flowers and sunshine last Thursday yet the only thing on my mind is staying awake. I cannot stay awake no matter what. Not even the sounds of footsteps from a bridge THOUSANDS of people are walking on. Not even raining pancakes falling on me and then a tsunami of maple syrup could wake me up. I’m too prone to sleeping these days. So its spring but I don’t care i’m going to sleep.
I was trying to take pictures of nature during spring break. I wanted to show spring. I took pictures of flowers in my garden. This was my favorite picture. The sun was shining on the flower, thus it looks as if it is glowing.
More people need to realize how important it is to build nest boxes for these tiny birds. Tree swallows are highly valuable to our ecosystem, and they are extremely beneficial in both the study of birds and improving our surroundings. Tree swallows do this by eating small, flying insects like mosquitoes which really help local parks. We should feel responsible, especially knowing that they heavily rely on us. A perfect example could be found below:
Yesterday, we went to Soundview Park to observe birds, and we saw a lot of robins, phoebes, black sparrows, and tree swallows. We were observing the boxes we made to see if any swallows were inside. At first there wasn't, but for some reason I had a lot of good luck.
Yesterday I saw a blue tree swallow with my own two eyes. I spotted it fighting with a black sparrow that was on top of his house basically telling it to "Get off my house!" Then it went inside of the next box.
Maria Robinson once said, “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a ending.” This quote means different things to a lot of people. But for me I know that his quote is saying how someone can always evolve and change their lives. The way you start your life and how you acted are already in the past. But you can always change the your future. Start to act a different way and change the things that you don’t like. This can change who you come out to be in the future. This quote can relate a lot to my life.
Charles Swindoll once said, ”We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.” This quote means to me that sometimes in life, we are faced with certain situations that may seem difficult or impossible to overcome; but these trials might just be an event that changes our life if we were willing to put all our effort into it. I feel like I can relate a lot to this quote because I am the type of person to just give up when times get tough. I never put my all into something which means I end up letting go of a lot of great opportunities.
Today was easily one of the best days since 2012 started. I woke up literally at 1 o'clock and just had the best feeling in my stomach. It was a feeling that spring was here. As I rose up from the dark world, I walked into a sunny one. This sunny world welcomed me with open arms. Spring to me is like a new beginning. Every year at the time of spring, I always do something to help me get a fresh start. Last year, I got a new short hair cut. It helped me get rid of the old and bring in the new. New Years resolutions do not stick with me, but spring ones do.
Spring time is here! Here in New York City, the warm weather came early (hopefully it's here to stay). It was over 85 degrees the other day, and everyone has been out enjoying the sun and warmth which the winter deprives us of. The cherry blossoms are blooming in the parks! All the daffodils, tulips, and grape hyacinths on the street are blooming. This new life brings more than sweet smells and pretty colors, but it lets photographers know that it's time to get out those cameras and capture the brilliance of springtime!
