This picture was taken near my school. Its of the top of a short ladder. When I was taking this picture I wasn't really thinking about the elements of composition or anything.
I like how un-composed this image is, yet in it's chaos, one can see the old Shea Stadium coming down and the new Citifield (if it keeps that name) being prepared in the background.
While I took this photo I did not really notice the different types of composition hidden within the photo. While looking over the photo after I took it I noticed a lot more things.
The short branch leads the eye to follow its curve. There is contrast in that the snow on the lower left hand corner is white and the upper right hand corner is in dark shadows.
This picture reflects what I learned about movement in photos because the people look slightly blurred. Also, I've noticed the rule of thirds going horizontally.
This is the number of a brick building around the corner of my school. I was trying to create a symmetrical image here and the left corner is a bit off.
I shot this image for the Sense of Place assignment, and it was somewhat hard to choose. I had a few photos that I could use for the Sense of Place assignment, which illustrated each in their own way the ways of Edgecomb, Maine. I tried to print one before this of a covered boat with snow all around it, and a bicycle leaning up against the trailer, but it didn’t seem to be per
I chose this photo for my Backlighting assignment because I liked it the most out of all of the backlighting photos that I shot. This photo demonstrates a unique vantage point because, although you may not be able to tell, I am very low to the ground. This could also be used for my Sense of Place assignment because it is very close to my home and a place that I used to visit a lot i
I selected this image for the Portrait assignment because I liked how it came out and it was the best portrait shot that I had. The printing went really well, I only had to make a few prints and I didn’t have to burn, dodge, or use any filters.
I selected this image for our Stop Action assignment. I shot this in a completely dark room with a strobe light on, which acted as a flash when shooting, and froze the moving object (in this case a ball being juggled) whenever it flashed. This could also fulfill the requirements of the Portrait assignment.
I chose this image for the Depth of Field assignment because it meets the requirements of the assignment, and it was my favorite Depth of Field shot. It could also be used for my Sense of Place assignment, because this photo was shot not far from my home.
