My question was born of late night thoughts. Peacocks are familiar to us. They roam zoo's and parks alike. You can even adopt them as pets! However, I came to realize I had absolutely no idea where they originated from. I spent the next day asking around to see if anyone could answer my avian mystery. Then finally a breakthrough! My English teacher required each student research a question they'd always been curious about. Seeing as peacocks had been on my mind all day I took the time to answer my own question.
In Akiko’s Busch essay “ Why I count Eels” The author talks about We need an environment so animals can survive and live.
When we consider the issue of citizen science some wonder why is the author watching these Eels, or why do we count birds in Soundview Park. Busch article addresses this question because amateurs help experts gather data which gives them more information.
Today I saw some pretty cool birds and they all had really interesting colors and they all were different shapes. I think that the weather was just perfect for bird watching and all of us had a great time watching them. I hope the rest of the days that we bird-watch that we have weather exactly the same.
Jose and I talk about the Rocking the Boat Project, what we did the first and second days. We started to get the measurements for the wood so that we could cut it to make nest boxes. We learned that there are different types of birds, and we've seen five different types of birds on the Bronx River so far. We're looking forward to doing more this spring.
In Daniel Beekman’s article, “Bronx teenagers build nest boxes for migratory tree swallows, get nature lesson from feathered friends,” from the New York Daily News, the author explains how students are beginning to create homes for these winged animals.
The most important aspect of penguin breeding is the specific mating rituals that vary from species to species. Different species breed in unique ways that separate them from one another. Penguins are very different from any other birth, and their mating rituals reflect their uniqueness. What I have learned from my research has really opened my eyes to the intriguing mating rituals of different species of penguin.
My AP Language class has continued researching our tentative topics for our upcoming research papers. My research is based on penguin breeding and the mating rituals associated with the various species of penguins. Recently, I have learned that penguin breeding usually occurs around the age of 3 years old. After reading a research lab conducted by an American zoologist, I have learned that many penguins breed with very strange behavior. The researcher concluded that many penguins are unfit for mating due to the fact that they are simply too inexperienced.
When editing a photo a simple tool that can really add to the picture is cropping. Cropping can be used no not only take things out of a photograph you don't like but also to make a picture more interesting. With my photo I cropped it so that the bird went from being in the middle of the picture to the side which makes a more interesting picture.
