Revenge is a prominent theme in the novel, The Tempest by William Shakespeare. Unfortunately, there are many current events that encompass this theme as well. On July 11, 2014 an act of brutal revenge was taken place in Northern India. A girl was raped as payback for her brother's criminal actions. Wall Street Journal reports the teen's brother was accused of trying to sexually assault the wife of Birju Pasi. Out of retaliation, Pasi raped the fourteen year old sister.
Wake by Lisa Mcmann is about the protagonist, Janie. Janie has always been different; ever since she was little. In this book we find out that when someone falls asleep next to her, she gets sucked into their dreams. "Janie's eyes flutter and open. She stares at the ceiling in the dark and then flips on her bedside lamp. Scribbles the dream in her notebook. Wow, she thinks. Cool." She can't control which dreams she falls into. It can be anybody and she automatically is in their dreams. While she is in their dreams, she becomes completely blind.
Some of the top three contemporary events that have helped to create major headlines within the past century include the rise of internet and social media, the election of President Barack Obama, and the war in Afghanistan. All three of these events have had some type of significant impact on the world and the way we think act and live may be totally different had these events not happened.
Listening to music in different languages to interpret some of the culture of a certain region has become a hobby of mine. I get yelled at for spending too much time watching overseas shows and music videos. Many people say that music is their life but to me music is another language that the world needs to learn to stay connected. Music accompanied by dance becomes the ultimate communication skill because even if the person can not understand what you are saying your expressions or your dancing style give them an idea of you as a person.
My playlist mainly Korean but not all of it, I also listen to Hindi, Bengali, English and Chinese music. It doesn't matter the language as long as the music is good and it makes you feel good it's considered good music.
