Orphan, Mary Lennox has explored every corridor in her uncle’s house, but she hasn't seen the enclosed, walled-in garden. She’s glanced at it one or two times, but she’s never really taken a very close look at it. When she finds a mysterious key, she immediately tries to unlock the garden and it works. She feels like herself inside of the garden so she names it the secret garden like it was her own. I've been wondering who made the secret garden and where they are.
Recently, I read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. I appreciated this book because the main character feels guilty about the last thing he did before his dad dies and he decides to find out what his dad left him despite the cost.
The protagonist is Oskar Schell. His story is set in this generation, specifically in New York. The significance of the city it’s set in is that his dad, Thomas, died on 9/11. The significance of the setting’s shift from place to place is that Oskar would go anywhere to find out what the key he found in his father’s belongings unlocks.
I'm a student at New Directions Secondary School in the Bronx.
Hello,My name is Cindy. I like to be my own person. For example, I like to be my self and do what I most like to do. I don’t enjoy seeing people being treated like if they weren't humans. I call myself a successful young lady. I think I’m special because there is only one of me in the world and you will only see one of me.
Regan is a dynamic character. Her archetype changes over the course of the story. In the beginning of the book, she is the archetypal The every-man. This can be seen on page 18, where the author writes,
"i have to go to school today. I have a test first period and a paper to turn in in history."
Listening to music in different languages to interpret some of the culture of a certain region has become a hobby of mine. I get yelled at for spending too much time watching overseas shows and music videos. Many people say that music is their life but to me music is another language that the world needs to learn to stay connected. Music accompanied by dance becomes the ultimate communication skill because even if the person can not understand what you are saying your expressions or your dancing style give them an idea of you as a person.
My playlist mainly Korean but not all of it, I also listen to Hindi, Bengali, English and Chinese music. It doesn't matter the language as long as the music is good and it makes you feel good it's considered good music.
