My name is Monisha, and I was born on August 7th 1992. I'm five foot, four and and a half inches tall, and I love colors! Purple and orange are my favorites. I'm a student at Bronx Academy Senior High in the Bronx, and my goals in life are very important to me. I would like to graduate from high school, get a good stable job, and to go to college to study to become a children's doctor. I feel like the biggest turning point of my life was when I was about 9 years old and my dad went to the military. My father and I are still are very close, so it really broke my heart.

I was never a big fan of school, but when I'm there, math and English are my favorite subjects. Science and global were always my worst. I could never understand them, and always struggled with them. Like now, as I’m in high school I need two more Regents, and they are Global and U.S. history and Living Environment in science. It's taking me a while to fully understand everything there is to know, but I am getting there.

As I said before, I love math and English. Those two always came easily to me. I never knew why. I just knew that those were the two classes I never mind going to. I always pass them, even growing up in elementary school they were my best subjects.

Indelible Moment: BBQ

For as long as I can remember, before my father left to the military, every Friday as a family, my father, my mother, my little sister and I used to go to BBQ for dinner. We used to get the same waitress every time, and everyone always ordered the same thing so she always knew what we wanted.

One day my little sister just so happened to want something new, some BBQ ribs. Now my sister was about the smallest three year old there was, and the waitress could not stop laughing at the fact she really wanted the ribs, and ate them all.

After eating all of her ribs and french fries, she then asked for another Sprite. The waitress told her to hold on for a second and brought her back a big cup of Sprite with cherries in them. My sister was so excited.

Ever since then, every Friday when we went to BBQ, the waitress gave my sister her drink with a huge cup of cherries on the side.
