Renee Dryg

I was born in the USA, my heritage is Bolivian on my fathers side, and European on my mothers side, but we are not sure about what country. I grew up in Iowa so we did not speak spanish in our home, my mother didn't know spanish either. my Grandma is 98 years old, she and my father are full-blooded Bolivians. I went to college at the University of Iowa for a BFA in Art ,Painting. I went to the University of Illinois at Chicago for my MFA degree in Art, multi-media. I taught college Art for several years before moving to NYC. When I arrived here I became a teacher right away teaching Math, there was a shortage of Math teachers at that time and my undergraduate minor was Math. After a few years as a math teacher I began to teach Technology and Art. I learned a lot about Technology as the years went on and was able to share this with my students. Many of my former students keep in touch now that they are college, one of my multi-media students is at The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, and another is becoming a Math teacher at Hunter college and is already student teaching at another TYWLS school!

Brief bio:
